To keep pace with the dynamic global risk arena, The IIA will be relaunching its Certification in Risk Management Assurance® (CRMA®) exam in 2021 to reflect the in-depth organizational knowledge and advanced skill sets required to succeed in risk management assurance.
The revised CRMA is positioned as a career pathway for internal auditors after they have achieved the Certified Internal Auditor® (CIA®) designation. To accomplish this, key changes have been made to the CRMA exam that include:
- All questions are now at proficient level.
- Advanced question formats.
- Extended seat time for the exam.
In addition to the above exam updates, the required work experience is more robust. The collective effect of these changes further aligns the CIA and CRMA, empowering practitioners to showcase their advanced risk management assurance acumen.
Candidates who have been approved for the current CRMA program, please view the CRMA Revision Handbook to learn how the changes impact you.
