Currently, many certification holders have inactive certification/s due to incomplete continuing professional education (CPE) reporting.
If certification holders have already completed their CPE reporting for 2010 / 2011, they will have active certification/s until 31 December 2012. This means they are still entitled to use these certification/s.
However, these active certifications will become inactive (grace period) certifications on 1 January 2013. This means they are no longer entitled to use these certification/s, but can upgrade their inactive (grace period) certification/s to active certification/s by completing their CPE reporting at no cost.
In due course, these inactive (grace period) certifications will become inactive certifications on 1 January 2014. This means they are still not entitled to use these certification/s, but can upgrade their inactive certification/s to active certifications by completing their CPE reporting and paying the applicable fee.
Similarly, if certification holders have already completed their CPE reporting for 2010 only, they will have inactive (grace period) certification/s until 31 December 2012. This means they are no longer entitled to use these certification/s, but can upgrade their inactive (grace period) certification/s to active certifications by completing their CPE reporting at no cost.
In addition, if certification holders have not completed their CPE reporting for 2010 / 2011, they will have inactive certification/s. This means they are no longer entitled to use these certification/s, but can upgrade their inactive certification/s to active certifications by completing their CPE reporting and paying the applicable fee.
Luckily, IIA HQ is offering an amnesty on this applicable fee until 15 December 2012 only.
Certification holders should complete their CPE reporting for 2010 / 2011 by 7 December 2012, which gives us with an additional week to follow-up with any certification holders who fails to meet this deadline.
In addition, we strongly recommend that certification holders complete their CPE reporting for 2012 at the same time.
To complete their CPE reporting, certification holders should use the attached CPE reporting form/s, including:
Name
IIA number
